Today was our very first “in-person” Coffee With The Principal meeting with families in nearly three years! Additionally, we were able to recruit a new secretary to our ELAC committee, as well as encourage families to “join the conversation” at our future ELAC meetings in an effort to stay informed. After all, one of our greatest allies in education is a well-informed family member. (Special Shout-Out to Sandy Clemente, our Fabulous Family Liaison, for coordinating and facilitating this event!)
I must admit that I was a little nervous at first… for several reasons. After all, we hadn’t done this since before the pandemic in 2020.
Fast forward 25 minutes into the meeting, and we were having a lively conversation about the importance of designated ELD, knowing if the Dual Language Program was the “right fit” for my child, and (my favorite topic) if we have a common belief and understanding about our true, deep-rooted CAUSE:
“We believe that our children have the RIGHT (not privilege) to an EXCEPTIONAL education. And, it is our collective responsibility to make that dream a reality.”
It’s a surreal feeling when you suddenly realize our amazing mothers in this photo fully endorse our mission and cause. They believe in our cause, and they would do anything in their power to make that happen. It will be a humbling journey for each of us to take that responsibility and make that dream and reality. As always, we’ll do that TOGETHER.
We’ve been chipping away at Collaboration, Assessment and Interventions these last THREE years together. However, this signifies our first step in creating the FOUNDATION for our Exceptional Systems here at Lincoln School…
What does it mean for a school to actually BELIEVE and APPLY what it means to have a “Culture of Universal Achievement?”
Time will tell as each of YOU join this conversation.

Great to see all those smiling faces!! I have been meeting with parents all week and it has been so great meeting them in person again. I am enjoying meeting Lincoln parents for the first time in person since last year we did conferences on zoom. They have all been very eager, supportive and appreciative!
